Sri Sri Durga Puja at the Vedanta Society Berkeley 2020

Swami Prasannatmananda, the Swami-In-Charge of the Vedanta Society Berkeley and San Jose House, conducted Durga Puja on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, at 3pm at the sanctuary of the Vedanta Society Berkeley.  Since gatherings are prohibited in California due to the global COVID 19 pandemic, devotees could not attend the puja in person.  However, more than 150 devotees watched the puja by Facebook Live and Live streaming on YouTube to celebrate the occasion.  Around ten volunteers wearing masks and maintaining prescribed distancing helped in the puja preparation and cooking prasad.
Swami Vivekanada: Always Alive
"I would advise those of you who have not read that book [Gita], to read it. If you only knew how much it has influenced your own country even! If you want to know the source of Emerson's inspiration, it is this book, the Gita. He went to see Carlyle and Carlyle made him a present of the Gita, and that little book is responsible for the Concord Movement. All the broad movements in America in one way or another, are indebted to the Concord party....."
[Refering to the Gita, in the course of his lecture on the Mahabharata delivered at Pasadena on Feb.1, 1900, CA, Swami Vivekananda said this]
