Vedanta Society Berkeley conducted Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve program at 7pm on Thursday Dec. 24th online. While initial plans were to carry on with the tradition of a live program in the sanctuary, due to the relentless upsurge of COVID-19 19 and the strict lockdown imposed by the state of California, and for the safety and wellbeing of all, this year’s Christmas eve program was a recorded event. The program included a welcome address by Swami Prasannatmananda, Swami-in-Charge of Vedanta Society Berkeley, who spoke on the triple significance of December 24 on the life of Swami Vivekananda. Lovely Christmas Carols celebrated the birth of baby Jesus. Reverend Father M. Melchizedek Kennedy, Parish priest of St. Francis Xavier Church delivered a special talk on Jesus Christ and Christmas. Vedanta Society Berkeley wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
